After living with and been treated for haemochromatosis, my husband Alan, was diagnosed with primary liver cancer (HCC). It is with great sadness and a broken heart that he died shortly after. This has turned our world and that of our family upside down.
As always Alan was thinking of others and wanted to help others where ever possible not to have to go through what we went through and are facing today. We hope that this website will generate funds that will help our chosen charities.
The areas we have chosen to help are; the Prospect Hospice and Cancer Research.
It is our believe that had MRI / CT scans been done earlier then Alan's cancer would have been detected earlier and may have been treatable. This is not meant to scare but to inform that the ultrasound scan is not enough to detect cancer and blood tests only detect cancer in approximately 70% of patients - the MRI / CT scan is what patients at risk need, we would like these to be offered as routine for at risk patients.
Please help us to help others by shopping via the links on this website - it will NOT cost you an extra penny but you could help us to help others hopefully not go through what we have and are experiencing now.
Thank you for your support,
Janet, Claire, Mark, Sarah, Becky, Chloe and Bekkie
